About Melissa

Therapist, advocate,

I believe that the most powerful thing a therapist can offer is not a technique or a framework, but a genuinely safe relationship in which real change becomes possible.

A Little More About Me

How I work and who I am

Life is something, isn't it?

Moments of joy, accomplishment, and meaning can feel fleeting, and many of us wonder if we're the only ones struggling to imagine what contentment really looks like. We look at our families, careers, relationships, and ourselves and notice where things just aren't working the way we hoped.

The gap between noticing what we want to change and actually having the support and tools to do something about it can feel enormous. And lonely.

That's where therapy can help.

My approach is practical and down to earth. I care deeply about emotional insight and meaningful growth, but I also believe therapy should reflect the real rhythms of life. Sometimes we explore big patterns and complicated feelings. Sometimes we talk about the TikTok that somehow captured your entire mood or the song lyric you cannot get out of your head. Therapy with me can include reflection, humor, curiosity, and the occasional moment of whimsy because growth does not have to happen in a completely serious room.

I genuinely care about each and every one of my clients, not just their problems but their whole selves. I want our sessions to be a place where you feel safe talking about the thoughts you were not sure you were allowed to say out loud. The messy ones. The confusing ones. The ones that make you wonder if you are the only person who thinks that way.

You are not.

I also bring my full humanity into this work. I am a therapist, but I am also a whole human growing and learning right alongside you. I approach therapy with curiosity, humility, and compassion rather than pretending to have life perfectly figured out.

I lead with compassion, but also with confidence. Therapy should be a place where you feel supported while also being encouraged to grow, stretch, and become more fully yourself.

Many of the people I work with are trying to build lives that feel more authentic and connected. That might mean healing from trauma, navigating complicated family dynamics, figuring out boundaries, making sense of the modern dating world, or learning how to create healthier relationships. Often it also means becoming a little less afraid of not fitting neatly into everyone else's expectations.

The goal is not perfection but creating a fuller life.

Life, Relationships, and Growth

I work with many parents, and I want to say something clearly that a lot of people need to hear.

Parenthood is wonderful. It is also incredibly difficult.

The mental load, the worry, the love, the exhaustion, and the constant questioning of whether you are doing it right can be overwhelming. Parents often feel enormous pressure to live up to unrealistic ideals about what family life "should" look like.

You do not need to be a parent to work with me. My background in child development and attachment also makes me uniquely qualified to support adults who are navigating their own childhood experiences, managing complex relationships, or simply trying to create a fuller, more authentic life.

That grounded, real world experience of family life is something I carry into every session. I do not work from a place of theoretical idealism but from a genuine understanding of how joyful, messy, and complex relationships can be.

Whether you are managing parenting stress, relationship challenges, or the lingering effects of your own upbringing, we can work together to build insight, compassion, and practical tools that actually work in real life.

What to Expect in Therapy

In our first session, my focus is simple. I want to understand you.

We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what has or has not worked for you before, and what you hope might feel different in your life. You do not have to have everything figured out before you start. Many people arrive with a sense that something needs to change but no clear roadmap. That is completely okay. We can figure it out together.

Meaningful change happens when people feel safe enough to be honest about who they really are, and creating that kind of connection in therapy is very important to me.

Let's Connect

If you are looking for a therapist who will meet you with compassion, curiosity, humor, and a deep respect for your story, we may be a good fit.

I care about each and every one of my clients and never take for granted what an honor it is to be included in your life as a support person. My goal is to create a space where you can say the things you thought you had to keep to yourself, laugh at the strange parts of being human, and slowly build a life that feels fuller and more authentic to who you really are.

If you think we might work well together, I would love to hear your story.
