Compassionate, evidence-based therapy for individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan.
Supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, and the everyday challenges of being human.
Specializing in family dynamics, authoritative parenting, intergenerational therapy, and supporting couples with the mental load and division of domestic and childcare labor.

Hi, I am Melissa, a licensed therapist based in Hamburg, NY. I work from a simple but deeply held belief: that everyone deserves a space where they feel genuinely understood, and that healing is possible at any stage of life.
I am an individual therapist who leans away from pathologizing the normal complexities of being human. Conflict, grief, relationship struggles, parenting challenges, and moments of feeling lost or overwhelmed are not disorders. They are part of a full life. My work is not about labeling what is wrong with you. It is about understanding what has happened, what you are carrying, and what you need to move forward.
I specialize in anxiety and depression, couples and family dynamics, child and adolescent wellbeing, and the profound emotional journey of pregnancy and new parenthood. I draw on evidence-based modalities including CBT and attachment-focused therapy, woven together with genuine warmth and attentiveness to your unique story.
Every person who walks through my door or logs on from home brings a unique story. All services are available in person in Hamburg or via secure telehealth throughout New York State and Michigan.
A confidential, one-on-one space dedicated entirely to you: your story, your growth, your healing. In person or via telehealth.

Ages 5 and UpFour principles guide every session and every step of our work together.
My role is not to tell you what to do. It is to help you access the wisdom and strength you already carry.
I blend proven frameworks with genuine warmth attuned to your experience and your unique story.
There is no timeline for growth. We move at your pace and honor every step forward, however small.
Research shows the therapeutic relationship is the strongest predictor of outcomes. I invest in ours from day one.
"You do not have to be in crisis to deserve support. You just have to be human."

Yes, and this is one of the things that makes my practice genuinely rare. In-home observation sessions are available as part of family therapy packages throughout the Western New York area. Travel outside of WNY is also possible with client-covered accommodations and travel expenses.
The first session is simply a conversation. I want to hear your story, understand what brought you in, and begin to get a sense of what you are hoping for. You do not need to arrive with answers or a clear sense of what you need. That is exactly what we figure out together.
Family therapy, grandparent interventions, and specialty services involve significant preparation, travel, observation, and written reporting that does not fit a standard per-session model. Packages allow me to deliver the full scope of support each family needs.
Yes. I am licensed as a clinical social worker in both New York State and Michigan, which means I can see telehealth clients in either state.
That is completely fine and very common. The free 15-minute consultation is the perfect place to talk through what is going on and figure out together which service is the right fit.
Absolutely. I am committed to creating a welcoming, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ clients, those in nontraditional relationship structures, and people of all backgrounds, bodies, and family configurations.
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation before any commitment. No obligation, no pressure, just a conversation.
